Favourite verse: II Timothy 1:12b

“…for I know whom I have believed and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”

Outside of the Scriptures themselves, one of my favourite quotes is from the missionary martyr Jim Eliott who wrote in his journal: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, in order to gain what he cannot lose.” That sums up my approach to life, especially at this time as I tackle this ‘final project’ – the pastorate here in Attleborough.

The Attleborough Baptist Church must not only survive, but it must thrive and grow continuing almost 200 years of ministry in this town.  With God’s help and guidance, and the combined efforts of the men and women who are so attached to this church, I have committed to:

  • take utmost care of the souls of those who come to our church week after week, ensuring each has a firm assurance of their salvation as seen in II Timothy 1:12,
  • make every effort to help each member grow in their faith through the application of God's Word to every part of their lives,
  • and do all I can to attract new members, especially younger families, to the church to ensure it finds a new generation of leaders to take the local congregation forward into the coming decades.

My favourite verse in Scripture is Psalm 118.24
"This is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Three principles I live by:
  • The Lord gave you today for a specific reason, so enjoy it and live in his strength!
  • Be determined to enjoy your life even in difficult situations.
  • Every day you can choose to enjoy the things God gave you, keep praising God despite your circumstances, and you will enjoy your life to the fullest today.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is if you are planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning. We are friendly and look forward to seeing you!

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. When you arrive, you will be greeted at the door by someone on our Welcome Team.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service.  It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Who can Come

Anyone!

What about my kids?

We welcome children and they will be catered for.

Other Ways of Getting Connected

Warm Welcome

We welcome everyone from Attleborough and surrounding towns or villages to our weekly Warm Welcome get-together on Tuesdays between 10am and 1pm. This is a great place to connect, make new friends and have fun as we roll out the mat for carpet bowls and haul out the Scrabble, puzzles and games. And of course there will be tea, coffee and biscuits.

Serving and Volunteering
